Good morning, everyone. Welcome to Tuesday morning.
    • 00:00:02
It's Stephen Whiteside here from the uptrend.com.
    • 00:00:05
In the pre market this morning, things are fairly quiet.
    • 00:00:08
Stock index futures are mixed with the.
    • 00:00:10
Dow lower, while the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq are slightly higher.
    • 00:00:14
Now, we may see some weakness this week.
    • 00:00:17
Not expecting a lot of aggressive selling.
    • 00:00:20
We are coming into month end, quarter end, we've got a couple of holidays
    • 00:00:24
and that all of those usually have a bullish bias to them.
    • 00:00:29
Now, the VIX traded up to the upper channel line yesterday, so looking for.
    • 00:00:33
A close on Tuesday above $14.52 to give us a buy signal.
    • 00:00:38
      That of course,
    • 00:00:39
would be in line with what's happening in the major indices right now.
    • 00:00:43
We've had the Dow down for six. Days in a row.
    • 00:00:46
      It's down again this morning.
    • 00:00:48
That has a lot to do with Walgreens, which is down over 7% in the pre market.
    • 00:00:52
      Already on a sell signal.
    • 00:00:54
The biggest losers over the past week.
    • 00:00:56
Have been Intel, Goldman, Sachs and Boeing.
    • 00:01:01
Those have been the biggest losers on the Dow.
    • 00:01:03
That's one of the reasons the Dow.
    • 00:01:04
Has been down six days in a row.
    • 00:01:06
Now we do have the S&P 500
    • 00:01:07
and the Nasdaq both back on sell signals as of Monday's close.
    • 00:01:13
Joining the TSX already on a sell signal.
    • 00:01:16
The TSX had a big update yesterday.
    • 00:01:18
      Got some help from commodities.
    • 00:01:20
Energy stocks were up, gold stocks were up,
    • 00:01:22
but I think it was really the financials with the banks up yesterday.
    • 00:01:25
Now no changes in trend there.
    • 00:01:27
We just had a really good Monday.
    • 00:01:30
We'll have to see if there's any continuation this week.
    • 00:01:33
Now, Tesla is back on a sell signal as of Monday's close, and we have an open gap.
    • 00:01:39
The bottom of that open gap is at 235.23.
    • 00:01:43
So that could certainly be the next area of support on the way down.
    • 00:01:49
Then looking at Nvidia, it is back.
    • 00:01:51
On a sell signal as well.
    • 00:01:52
And you can see the open gap is much farther away than what Tesla.
    • 00:01:56
      Is dealing with now.
    • 00:01:58
Microsoft also back on a sell signal.
    • 00:02:00
So some of the big caps are starting to roll over, joining a lot
    • 00:02:04
of other technology stocks that have already.
    • 00:02:06
      Been on sell signals,
    • 00:02:07
including Advanced Micro Devices, BlackBerry, Alphabet, and we've got Roku.
    • 00:02:13
      All on sell signals already.
    • 00:02:15
Then looking at Apple, apple still on a buy signal here.
    • 00:02:19
      No change in trend.
    • 00:02:20
We closed down yesterday after making a new high.
    • 00:02:23
Looking for a close on Tuesday below 182.79 to give us a sell signal for Apple.
    • 00:02:29
124.73 to give us a sell signal for Amazon.
    • 00:02:33
Amazon hit our next price target yesterday of 131.25.
    • 00:02:37
      So congratulations.
    • 00:02:38
If you got an order filled at that level, then.
    • 00:02:41
      Still waiting for Meta.
    • 00:02:43
Looking for a close on Tuesday below 273.64.
    • 00:02:47
For shopify in New York, we're looking for a close below 62.22, in Toronto.
    • 00:02:53
      We're looking for a close below 82.76.
    • 00:02:56
Let's finish off with commodity prices and crude oil.
    • 00:03:00
      It's really, really sloppy here.
    • 00:03:02
Looking, you know, if we take a
    • 00:03:04
look at the pros and the public,
    • 00:03:05
you can see they've been intertwined for over a month now.
    • 00:03:08
So it's really not a market that you want to get involved in.
    • 00:03:12
If you want to get back into.
    • 00:03:13
Crude oil, I'd wait until we see.
    • 00:03:15
A breakout of the recent high or
    • 00:03:16
the recent low before I would put new money into crude oil.
    • 00:03:21
Looking at gasoline just as sloppy.
    • 00:03:23
Back on a sell signal here, so that's counterintuitive.
    • 00:03:27
We are coming into the summer driving season.
    • 00:03:29
We should continue to see upward pressure on gasoline prices.
    • 00:03:33
Natural gas new high for this move.
    • 00:03:35
Hit our next price target of 780.
    • 00:03:39
So congratulations if you got some orders filled there.
    • 00:03:43
If we look up, we can see 9.38 as our next
    • 00:03:45
target above that and there's a big open gap over here.
    • 00:03:49
So if we can start breaking out.
    • 00:03:51
Above 7.81, then 9.38 can certainly come into play.
    • 00:03:57
Looking at gold, a quiet day yesterday.
    • 00:03:59
Inside day for the price of gold holding 178.13.
    • 00:04:03
If that breaks, 175 is our next target.
    • 00:04:06
Gold was down slightly last time I looked this morning.
    • 00:04:09
And there's the price of silver moving up yesterday.
    • 00:04:11
We need a close above 21.51 on Tuesday to give us a buy signal.
    • 00:04:16
      Not expecting that to happen.
    • 00:04:18
Okay, folks, that is all for this morning's presentation.
    • 00:04:21
Looking for a fairly quiet day.
    • 00:04:23
Hope you have a quiet day as well.
    • 00:04:25
Next time you'll hear my voice is on Wednesday morning.
