In this tutorial, I'm going to teach you about cloning a website as well as undoing and redoing any mistakes you may have made
    • 00:00:10
Now cloning a website is actually a really useful feature that you're going to want to be familiar with because it has many uses
    • 00:00:17
You can use it to make sort of a base template and if you ever want to modify an original site and make multiple variations, you can sort of create a basic site and then clone that
    • 00:00:28
and then modify that to individual customers or clients or you can even use it as sort of a failsafe where if you have a really nice site or a nice concept that you like and you
    • 00:00:38
plan on doing some major changes or reworking some widgets and you don't want to mess up, you can clone a website and then you can make a change and see if you like how it looks
    • 00:00:47
and then if you don't like it, you can just scrap it and go back to the latest clone
    • 00:00:51
So there's lots of different uses to cloning a website and you can do that by clicking this blue button down here right next to delete button
    • 00:00:58
This blue button will let you clone this site and when you click it, it'll ask you if you're sure
    • 00:01:02
Once you click OK, it'll ask you to name the new site
    • 00:01:06
So we're going to name this new clone and click OK and now this is live and what it's going to do is it's going to create a new website, upload it to our server and it's
    • 00:01:15
going to copy over all of the widgets, the content, the options and the style as is and put that into a new site in your account and once it does it takes just a few seconds,
    • 00:01:27
now you'll see once it's loaded, it has copied over that burger site exactly as is
    • 00:01:33
So if we go ahead and go back to our list of sites here, we can see that there is our test site and there is the new clone that we have created and this test site
    • 00:01:44
is exactly as that new clone that you saw and we can go ahead and make changes to this site and it won't affect the other site because it's technically a completely separate site and it's going
    • 00:01:53
to have a different URL if you were to view the site
    • 00:01:57
Now if you make any major mistakes, like let's say you accidentally delete a widget that you didn't want to and that really messed up your site like this header widget which is an important part of
    • 00:02:08
this website and if you delete that, you'll see it'll take you straight to just our specials now and it doesn't have that header introduction
    • 00:02:16
You can actually click this undo button right here near the top and this will undo the previous action and what that does is that'll undo certain actions that you've done like content, deletions and things like
    • 00:02:34
that and it'll try to restore it to the previous state so you'll see it has now brought that header back and you'll see now if we go to the home that header is there again and
    • 00:02:46
now what we can do again is we can redo it and that'll delete the header again or we can let's say delete a different one like this column of text so it'll just be the header
    • 00:02:58
and then with buttons underneath it now
    • 00:03:00
So you see the site is a lot smaller now and I can undo that or I can go back to the clone that I just made which was technically made before I deleted that and this
    • 00:03:15
will be however this was cloned as is so this is always going to be the state that it was cloned at and this is perfect for like I said before you can make multiple variations for
    • 00:03:25
different clients so if you have like a basic landing page you can make one landing page clone it for someone customize it to them and then as long as you keep the original as is you
    • 00:03:35
can simply keep cloning the original and then customizing the clones and that'll let you have multiple sites for different people and once you're all set and once your sites ready to be named essentially I usually
    • 00:03:49
recommend to clone a site before you actually attach a domain name and an SSL certificate and the reason for that is because it'll sort of act as a backup I always like to have fail safes
    • 00:04:00
and backups and whatnot and if anything does go wrong with that one site you'll always have the the previous clone you are working with so you don't have to clone a site before you name it
    • 00:04:09
that's just my personal preference once you're ready to name a website you would simply go into the options name domain and SSL and then from here I would recommend studying the entire help section this is
    • 00:04:21
going to be filled with all of the other training videos on all of these options here on all the individual widgets and how to do different pages and whatnot and if you type um C name
    • 00:04:33
into the search bar and help that will show you how to attach a C name for go daddy or name cheap um and it's actually pretty simple all you would really do is just log into
    • 00:04:45
your account and replace the A record with this value and replace the C name with this value and then you're all set um and then you oh you have to attach the domain copy the domain
    • 00:04:55
as is there and then you click save and then you're all set and then it'll take a while but once it attaches the this website will now be attached and you can attach your SSL certificate
    • 00:05:06
by clicking the green button which will unlock once you've given your site a domain and it's pretty simple from there and from there um pretty much you can go wherever you want with the websites there's
    • 00:05:16
lots of different possibilities simply study the help section and that's going to show you all the different help videos and make sure to visit our support page the support page is going to be located as
    • 00:05:29
part of this article and they'll be a link to that located either at the top or the bottom of the article so simply go there that'll have a huge list of frequently
