00:00:00In this video, I will show you how you can use custom SMTPs with your VBout account
-
00:00:07Once you've installed the add-on, you can see on the top right under settings a new menu appear called custom SMTP
-
00:00:14Navigate your way there and you will notice an add custom SMTP option
-
00:00:18I already configured one so I can show you how it works
-
00:00:22It is with SparkPost
-
00:00:24It has the details here
-
00:00:27I'm not using SMTP credentials but instead I'm using an API key which is a little bit more powerful
-
00:00:32It offers more options and faster sending
-
00:00:35I have two sub accounts under me because I am an agency that are using this SMTP pool and it is active
-
00:00:44Now VBout allows you to configure multiple SMTPs
-
00:00:47So I'm going to go ahead and click on add custom SMTP
-
00:00:51I'm going to give it a name and this name is for your own reference so I can say this is send grid
-
00:01:00And from the drop-down you'll notice I have some pre-configured options
-
00:01:04SparkPost send grid and soon I'll have Amazon SES and then custom
-
00:01:08So you don't have to only use those providers
-
00:01:12It can be literally anything
-
00:01:14The only difference if you use these providers is we will provide a faster sending through API queuing
-
00:01:21We will also provide a little more detailed tracking in terms of bounce backs, return bounce codes and other tracking options
-
00:01:32We will still track open rates and click throughs whichever option that you choose but with those SparkPost send grid and Amazon will have more analytics for you
-
00:01:45I will choose send grid and I'll have two ways to authenticate
-
00:01:50One of them is to use SMTP credentials or the other option which is a little bit more as I said powerful is the API key option
-
00:02:00And if you use send grid you'll know how to generate an API key
-
00:02:04I've already generated one for speed of this demo
-
00:02:07I'm going to paste it here and this email is just for testing
-
00:02:10You can change this to anything that you want
-
00:02:14And submit
-
00:02:15Here we go
-
00:02:17Now I have send grid added
-
00:02:18I have SparkPost
-
00:02:19I have two different pools and you can keep on adding as many as you want
-
00:02:23The default one is SparkPost and I have two accounts under me using it whereas send grid I don't have any sub accounts
-
00:02:33So you can see here I am actually defaulting my account to one SMTP while maybe I'm provisioning another and perhaps I want to create different sending services for different accounts
-
00:02:48But if you're an agency this is a function for you
-
00:02:51On the right side you'll see which are the assigned accounts
-
00:02:54In this case I'll have all my sub accounts as an agency
-
00:02:58So let's say I want to have this account using this pool and now I have one under me
-
00:03:06Very easy
-
00:03:09If I want to change and make send grid as a default all I got to do is just click on set as default on the account and that should be good to go
-
00:03:18You see those two options
-
00:03:20Set it on my own account and set it for my agency sub accounts in general
-
00:03:27So if you want any of them to be the default you can go ahead and click that
-
00:03:31In the future if you add other accounts they will automatically be using that pool
-
00:03:38So this is it
-
00:03:39I will summarize real quick
-
00:03:41One you can add multiple SMTP pools and SMTP accounts to VBOT
-
00:03:46You can choose which one is the default for you or what is the default for you and your sub accounts if and only if you're an agency
-
00:03:55You have the ability to set which sub account is using which pool
-
00:04:00If you use any of the predefined services you'll have more in depth tracking whereas if you use custom you might lose some of those bounce back tracking that we offer
-
00:04:11So this is it guys
-
00:04:12Very powerful feature
-
00:04:13Well requested
-
00:04:15I hope you enjoy it and thank you
