-
00:00:00Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Thursday morning.
-
00:00:03It's Stephen Whiteside here from theuptrend.com in the pre market this
-
00:00:07morning, stock index futures are below fair value.
-
00:00:10Dow futures currently down 130 points.
-
00:00:13At the same time, we do have commodities trading higher on Thursday morning.
-
00:00:18Now we do have some employment numbers coming out this morning at 830.
-
00:00:22That could add to the pre market volatility.
-
00:00:25Yesterday was a fairly quiet day for the market.
-
00:00:27It is a holiday shortened week.
-
00:00:29A lot of people are off at the moment.
-
00:00:31I guess the biggest news item from
-
00:00:34Wednesday's trading action was interest rates.
-
00:00:36Bond yields continued to move higher, making a new high for this move.
-
00:00:41The VIX is still on a sell signal that's supportive for higher stock prices.
-
00:00:45That would change on Thursday with a close
-
00:00:47above $14.15. Small pullback in the Dow yesterday, the SP 500, the Nasdaq.
-
00:00:55Bigger pullback for the Chip sector down over 2%.
-
00:00:58Still on a buy signal here.
-
00:01:00That would change on Thursday with a close
-
00:01:02below 213 78, and a small pullback, a little over half a percent for the TSX.
-
00:01:10Looking at the most actively traded US.
-
00:01:12Stocks from Wednesday's trading action, we won't see any trend changes here.
-
00:01:16Tesla had a fairly quiet trading day.
-
00:01:19Inside day for Tesla, new high for Rivian on Wednesday, inside day for Neo.
-
00:01:26Carnival made a new high on Wednesday.
-
00:01:28And then we had a new high for Lucid,
-
00:01:31filling the open gap from back in late May.
-
00:01:34We'll have to see if we can push through that.
-
00:01:37Then looking at Ford new closing high.
-
00:01:41Advanced Micro Devices trading in the
-
00:01:43channel, looking for a close above 115 .63 on Thursday to give us a buy signal.
-
00:01:48Small pullback for Apple, still trading above the upper channel line.
-
00:01:52Marathon digital new high on Wednesday.
-
00:01:55Then we've got Palantir, which is back on a buy signal.
-
00:01:58Things would change for Palantir on Thursday with a close below 1470.
-
00:02:04Next up, let's take a look at the TSX most actives from Wednesday's trading action.
-
00:02:09Again, no trend changes here.
-
00:02:12We had a small pullback for the TD Bank, a
-
00:02:14bigger pullback for the Bank of Nova Scotia.
-
00:02:17Then we've got TC Energy back in the channel.
-
00:02:21We get a new sell signal for TC Energy with a close below 52 31 on Thursday.
-
00:02:27Enbridge, we're looking for a close below 48 57.
-
00:02:30Canadian Natural Resources still trading,
-
00:02:33closing above the upper channel line, Hut 8.
-
00:02:36Making a new closing high for this move.
-
00:02:39Then we've got Manualife trading back in the channel.
-
00:02:41Things would change for Manualife on
-
00:02:43Thursday with a close below 24.60. Then we had an inside day for Crescent Point.
-
00:02:49We've got Algonquin Power on a buy signal right now.
-
00:02:53Things would change for Algonquin Power with a close below 10.77 on Thursday.
-
00:02:59Then Osisko , which was the biggest losing stock on the TSX yesterday, came down
-
00:03:04sharply, closed down nearly 10% on the day.
-
00:03:07So some surprising news there that shocked
-
00:03:10investors looking at a couple of other gold stocks.
-
00:03:14So we've got Barrack and Igniko Eagle still on buy signals here.
-
00:03:17Things would change for Barrick on
-
00:03:19Thursday with a close below 21.74. And for Agnico Eagle, we're looking for a close
-
00:03:24below 64.60 in the pre market this morning.
-
00:03:27We've got gold trading up $4.
-
00:03:29But if the stock market wants to roll
-
00:03:31over, that doesn't guarantee that gold stocks will go higher.
-
00:03:35Speaking of gold, let's take a look at commodities.
-
00:03:38We had crude oil higher yesterday.
-
00:03:40Remember, we're trying to give crude oil a lot more room than normal.
-
00:03:44The pros and the public still intertwined.
-
00:03:46So no really new interest in crude oil at the moment.
-
00:03:49It is trading higher in the pre market this morning.
-
00:03:52Gasoline still on a buy signal, no change there.
-
00:03:55Natural gas still on a buy signal as well,
-
00:03:58but that would change on Thursday with a close below 704.
-
00:04:02We've got the GLD still on a sell signal that would change on Thursday with a close
-
00:04:06above 179.28, which would join silver already on a buy signal.
-
00:04:12No change in trend for palladium or platinum.
-
00:04:15And there's Silver back on a buy signal as of Wednesday's close.
-
00:04:19And we've got a nice big gap above us that we could possibly fill.
-
00:04:25Okay, that is all for Thursday morning's presentation.
-
00:04:28Not a lot of new signals from Wednesday's trading action.
-
00:04:32Looks like Volatility may start to expand
-
00:04:34this morning after those employment numbers come out at 830.
-
00:04:38Have a great day.
-
00:04:39Next time you'll hear my voice is on Friday morning.
