00:00:00In this video, I'm going to discuss the options and styles section of a website, along with publishing your website with the domain once it's finally ready and finished
-
00:00:12So once you have completely edited your website and all of your pages by creating all the pages you want and adding the widgets you want to those pages, you can then go into options and check
-
00:00:25out the many different options we have available, including the ability to actually publish your site with your own domain
-
00:00:31Some of these options might be slightly different than what you see, but they should all function very similar
-
00:00:36The owners tab, if you have this, this will allow you to change owners of a website depending on which plan you are part of or if you have any users beneath you
-
00:00:46The name domain in SSL, now this is where you would go to actually attach a name domain and purchase an SSL for your website
-
00:00:57You can view how to do this by clicking this blue question
-
00:01:00mark right here
-
00:01:01This will open the domain training video, which will show you how to attach a domain to your site and how to purchase an SSL if an SSL is required to be purchased for your site
-
00:01:14Now, I can't stress enough that this should be one of the final things that you should do after your website is fully complete
-
00:01:21Don't build a template or a website real quickly and then try to attach a domain to it first thing because that will hurt you in the long run with search engine optimization
-
00:01:31This should be the last thing you do after your website is completed
-
00:01:35In the meantime, you can always view exactly what the site will look like by going to the temporary domain right here and viewing the temporary URL that is created once your site is generated
-
00:01:49And then when you're finally ready with the way it looks, then you can attach a domain in SSL
-
00:01:53And again, you can watch the training videos on how to do that below that we have the header
-
00:01:59Now, this might be a bit confusing because this is separate from the header widget
-
00:02:04And now, let me repeat that
-
00:02:05The header options is different from the header widgets
-
00:02:09Now, the header widget is always going to be the topmost widget of a website
-
00:02:14However, the header options is going to be the very top of the entire website altogether, which includes navigation bars and images, as you can see here at the top, that header image
-
00:02:27So if you wish to edit your navigation bar or any images at the very top of website, you can do so with the header options
-
00:02:35The footer options is the opposite, which is the very bottom of a website
-
00:02:39You can put things like terms of service or other disclaimers here that are visible across the entire website at the very bottom
-
00:02:47You can also add your own navigation bars and link to other pages that are popular by adding to the footer options
-
00:02:56My media library is where you would have all different images that you have uploaded
-
00:03:01Whenever you upload or use an image for a site, it'll be uploaded to the personal media library where you can then reuse that or edit or update images
-
00:03:11Login and users is if you wish to enable login and registration for your site
-
00:03:16If you want people to actually have to create an account before they can even view your site, you can do so by turning on these options
-
00:03:24The localization will let you adjust the language as well as date formats and numbers formats
-
00:03:32Now, let me stress this because of how important it is that when you change the language, it will not automatically translate and change all of the text for that site
-
00:03:42It will only change any default text such as that which occurs with buttons or other links or pre -generated content
-
00:03:52Any text that you type will always remain in whatever language you typed it
-
00:03:56However, you typed it
-
00:03:58So if you wish to actually translate the entire site, you will have to translate the actual text itself
-
00:04:04But you can change the formats and numbers as well here below that we have emails transport
-
00:04:11This is a section where you set up how you wish any emails to be transported such as on this site at the very bottom
-
00:04:18We actually have a form right here
-
00:04:22The contact us now in which users can fill out this information and actually submit this form
-
00:04:28In which case, it will use whatever email you set up with the transport options in order to send that email to you or a reply back to them
-
00:04:39You have to set up emails transport in order for most of the forms to work properly if it involves submitting the form and sending it anywhere
-
00:04:46Please watch the training video
-
00:04:48You'll see a blue question
-
00:04:49mark on any page that has available training and this will show you exactly how to use that
-
00:04:56The download and share options is where you can actually download the entire site
-
00:05:02Note that you have to have the site domain and an SSL certificate attached in order to download the site
-
00:05:08But this will let you download all of the pages, images, and content into a zip file, which will create a snapshot of your site
-
00:05:16And you can also use a mobile redirect code here
-
00:05:21Below is the analytics and ads where you can actually add Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, referral tracks and ADS text files
-
00:05:30So if you have any of this simply paste that information here and save an update and then it'll attach all of that for you
-
00:05:38The SEO and robots is where you would edit the robots txt
-
00:05:42file which is used to customize the search engine optimization settings for your site
-
00:05:47If you're unfamiliar with the settings, simply just leave this alone because all of our websites automatically optimize for search engine optimization
-
00:05:56So you don't really have to do much on your end
-
00:05:58However, if you are familiar with this and you wish to make any specific changes, you can do so here
-
00:06:06And the legal and privacy is where you would edit any legal and privacy for your site, such as the terms of service, privacy policy, cookie policy, and disclaimers
-
00:06:15We even have the ability to have the cookie policy pop up on the website
-
00:06:20So users are almost forced to interact with it, which helps comply with many internet regulations
-
00:06:27And we also have the history tab
-
00:06:31Now this is your history in editing the website
-
00:06:34This is the last 20 edits that you have made to this site
-
00:06:39We keep this sort of backed up as a failsafe in case you make a mistake, you can undo changes by going back into the history or by clicking the undo or redo tab here at the
-
00:06:54top
-
00:06:54So let's say for example, you are editing a widget and you accidentally delete something that you didn't mean to and you save and update it
-
00:07:03Now that content is gone
-
00:07:05Instead of having to rebuild the entire content from scratch, you can click the undo button to go back one step or one save or you can go into your history options in order to see when
-
00:07:17the last change was made and revert the website to that last change
-
00:07:21So that's a very handy useful feature
-
00:07:24Note that it is not always perfect
-
00:07:26So it's highly recommended to backup your site regularly by cloning it if you can
-
00:07:33I'll go over that in another video
-
00:07:35And the last option is the AMP settings
-
00:07:39This is the accelerated mobile pages
-
00:07:42Now typically this is not necessary to touch because all of our pages are optimized for search engine optimization
-
00:07:54But if this is required, you can just turn this on right here
-
00:07:58Now when it comes to editing the look of your site, you have two options
-
00:08:07The first is within the widgets or the pages themselves
-
00:08:11So if you want to edit, let's say the color of a text or buttons, you can do so within that actual widget by going to that widget and that actual content and then possibly changing the
-
00:08:21color
-
00:08:22The other option is by going to the style tab right here at the top
-
00:08:27And this is to change style across the entire site wide
-
00:08:31Now I will discuss themes in a moment because this is an important subject on how it works
-
00:08:39I just want to talk about changing the colors like I mentioned first
-
00:08:43The colors can be changed right at the section below themes for the colors and fonts
-
00:08:49You can change any fonts across the entire site with with these settings and you can add any different colors to apply for across the entire site
-
00:08:59So if you want to change all of the links to red, you can do so here
-
00:09:03If you want to change all the buttons to green, you can select the green color here and save an update
-
00:09:08This will change across the entire site
-
00:09:11And you also have the ability to add custom CSS
-
00:09:14CSS is to add custom styling to your site
-
00:09:18However, this is not necessary to know
-
00:09:21If you do have knowledge in CSS, it might be beneficial to add some custom colors and fonts
-
00:09:33However, if you would like to add any custom CSS, you can do so at the section here and this will override any available settings
-
00:09:42Now when it comes to themes, themes are used to change the colors fonts and all the different styles across the entire site to match similar to this theme
-
00:09:54Now beware, this will not change the content of your website
-
00:09:57So by clicking one of these themes, you won't see any change in the text or the images like you see here
-
00:10:04This is just to give you an example of the overall style of that theme and what it might change your site to look like
-
00:10:11So for example, on our preview here on the right side, we have some white text at the top
-
00:10:17Below that, we have black text with a white background and then these images
-
00:10:21However, if we have thing that is different, such as this nail salon, see how it's got a lot of lavender and purple
-
00:10:33If we click this and then we choose this and save and update that theme, then we can see all of our text is still the same
-
00:10:46But down here below, we now have a different color, a different font
-
00:10:50The background is now that lavender and the titles are now changed as well in terms of color
-
00:10:57But all the text and the actual content itself remains the same
-
00:11:01So you can use themes to change the overall look of the entire site
-
00:11:06But just be aware that I recommend usually editing style individually with the widget themselves or by editing the colors and fonts
-
00:11:19Choosing a theme will change the entire site
-
00:11:22It might make some unwanted changes that you might not like and you're going to have to then change back
-
00:11:27But it's up to you how you want to style your site
-
00:11:30And remember, always remember to save an update once you've made any major changes
-
00:11:34Once you've changed how you like the site and how everything looks and everything's in its place as it should be, then you can go into options, then give it a domain, attach an SSL and then
-
00:11:45your site is good and live and ready to go
