Here's what's included, how the guided lead climbing trip works and what you can expect

All equipment is included as part of the trip

You need to make your own way to the bunker by bike or taxi

If you need us to arrange a taxi for you to come to the bunker, we can help arrange your pickup but you will need to pay the driver directly based on your pickup location

Your transportation from the bunker up to our beautiful climbing spot on top of a hill ten minutes away will be taken care by us

We'll provide you with one one-litre stainless steel bottle of water for your trip and we use these to help minimize the impact of plastic on our beautiful island

We suggest you wear something comfortable to climb in, bring mosquito repellent just in case and wear shoes or good sandals for the short hike up

Now here's how it'll go on the day of your climbing trip

Please arrive at the bunker climbing gym no later than 15 minutes before the time you booked for

When you arrive you'll fill in the necessary waiver and indemnity form if you haven't yet

Our instructor guide will greet you and provide you equipment that fits you well

The trip will begin when everyone has shown up

First our instructor guide will do a check and review of your climbing lead knowledge skills and use of climbing equipment

Our instructor will check that you know how to correctly and safely tie a figure eight knot

He or she will check that you know how to belay another climber who is climbing

You should know the basics of climbing movement if you're signing up for the trip of course

Then he or she will also check that you know what to do once you reach the top of a climb and you know how to clean the room

The check and review will be done within a safe and comfortable environment of our climbing gym

Total time for the check and review in the gym could take between 15 to 30 minutes depending on how many people are in the group

Then you'll be taken up to our climbing spot

There the fun and excitement begins and all that's left to do is have fun and enjoy the view

You'll do a few climbs starting from the easiest one we have based on your previous experience level and the total time you'll be up at our climbing spot will be about three and a half hours having fun

The number of climbs you'll do depends on how long your strength and skin on your fingertips last and how quickly you can get comfortable on the granite

And did I mention that the view from up there is simply amazing and is one of the best views of Kotao? Great

Once you're done challenging yourself and experiencing the excitement of climbing on Kotao Granite, you'll be taken back to the bunker where you'll do a debrief
